SD Islam Al-Azhar 52 Sidoarjo hosted a vibrant International Day at Al Azhar Sidoarjo’s campus, honoring Indonesia as the host of the 43rd ASEAN High-Level Conference. The school community donned Southeast Asian attire, embodying Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines, and Cambodia. Mr. Mulyono, the organizer, emphasized the event’s support for Indonesia’s ASEAN leadership and its aim to introduce diverse cultures to the students.
Under the theme “Celebrating Diversity, Strengthening ASEAN Citizenship,” the event featured booths presenting Southeast Asian countries, offering cuisines, traditional games, and cultural items. It also showcased student achievements, including performances and insights into international cultures. Miss Rahayu Elfiyanti, the school principal, envisioned the event fostering tolerance and pride in cultural differences, aligning with the school’s commitment to global diversity through the Pancasila Student Profile. This celebration echoed unity in diversity, shaping a generation appreciative of global citizenship.
